PLASTICS POLLUTION

A growing body of research is revealing the extent of accumulation of non-biodegradable plastics that pervades every sphere of our Earth. Detrimental impacts of plastic pollution include hormone disruption in the body through consumption of contaminated food and liquids and injury and death of wildlife that ingest plastics. The Watershed Community Science Program in the FAMU Center for Water Resources is dedicated to outreach and education in raising awareness of issues associated with plastics pollution in watersheds. We conduct workshops and educational activities. For more information contact Dr. Katherine Milla katherine.milla@famu.edu
