The SSWD Spring Symposium will take place from May 19-21, 2025, bringing together representatives from 1890 Land-Grant Universities, industry partners, and key stakeholders.

This gathering serves as a platform to share and explore best practices aligned with the center’s four core objectives:

Experiential Learning

Expanding hands-on opportunities for students.

Student Support

Recruiting, retaining, mentoring, and graduating first-generation and underrepresented students in 1890 LGUs.

Workforce Development

Strengthening pathways from postsecondary education to graduate programs and careers.

Innovation in Education

Integrating emerging technologies into academic curricula.

The event will unite participants from 1890 Land-Grant Universities, the 1890 Foundation, federal and state government, NGOs and other 1890 supporters.

It will be a meaningful opportunity to:

  • Celebrate the 135th anniversary of the Second Morrill Act and the lasting impact of 1890 Land-Grant Universities upon the nation.
  • Showcase student achievement and success within the 1890 community.
  • Collaborate on strategies to advance student success and workforce readiness.

Join us as we work together to shape the future of education and career development for the next generation.
